Burke’s Music offers everything from traditional celtic and folk, to blues, jazz, alternative rock and country. Our affiliation with Celtic Southern Cross means that we have an excellent range of CDs from all over the world of celtic music. If you are having trouble finding a more exotic album, the chances are that we will have it. If not, we can look for you.

Burke’s Music is based in Castlemaine, Victoria, and we have our shop right above Saff’s Café, in Mostyn Street. If you’re in Castlemaine, grab a coffee at Saff’s, then come upstairs and lounge around in comfort while you listen to some of our great music.

Fiddle & viola solos – from The Cairngorms to The Blue Ridge

Inspired by his exposure to Appalachian music and dance whilst performing at the 2003 Smithsonian Folklife Festival, Ian travelled extensively to The Blue Ridge Mountains in 2005  & 2006 to immerse himself in the music and culture of the old-time community. WESTRINGING resounds with that influence, on many newly composed melodies as well as tunes from Shetland, the Highland bagpipe repertoire and his own fiddle pibroch. ...more
